ABOUT THE HOTEL AT LA BARRA
Puerto Sandino is home to many of the least crowded surf breaks in all of Nicaragua. Our little paradise is nestled in the small fishing village of Miramar, a province of Leon, where you’ll find quiet sandy beaches, rock pool formations, friendly locals, nearly empty waves, and some of the best left handers in all of Nicaragua.
Our property is oceanfront. The beach is accessible with just a few steps down our stairs from our outdoor lounge area, boasting hammocks, a cool swimming pool, relaxing lounge chairs, and a well-stocked bar. All rooms have private bath, ac, and fast WI-FI access, and our entertainment area comes with a pool table, tv, and yoga deck.

Food
While visiting us at La Barra you’ll receive 3 freshly prepared meals per day. We have a wide range of meal options, but be ready to try Nicaraguan favorites such as local caught fish, fresh veggies, locally farmed meats and Nicaraguan red silk beans.
Coffee, fruit, cereal and fresh banana bread is available daily at 5 am. Breakfast follows around 8 am, with other meals scheduled around your daily activities.
All fish is sourced by neighboring fisherman, and we always seek out local markets with the freshest produce.
GETTING AROUND
When you purchase a surf or vacation package from us, our hotel provides round trip airport transportation.
The transfer to La Barra will be 1 hour and 30 minutes. You’re able to stop for snacks, water, bathroom breaks, etc. on the way to the hotel. Just ask!
Once you’re here, you can roam to nearby hotel bars or we can arrange trips to Leon for salsa nights or Granada for romantic getaways.
